Roze

Rose is "薔薇"(bara) in Japanese. It's quite difficult to write even to Japanese, maybe 99% of Japanese cannot write this Kanji. However its style, shape is so beautiful, isn't it?

Buddha said when he was born

It is said "天上天下唯我独尊"(Ten jou ten ge yui ga doku son) when Budda was born and soon  walked seven steps with right hand pointing to the sky and left hand pointing to the ground. This is just  a legend but many people believe it. It means "I am the best in the world".

Thanks

There is a simple letter paper in Japan which is called "一筆箋"(ippitsu sen). It is used to write just simple word, sentence to express thanks. "Thank you!" is "ありがとう"(arigatou) in Japanese and formally saying is "感謝"(kansha).

Proverb:Time is money

"Time is money" which teaches time is so important is there also in Japan proverb, which is "時な金なり"(Toki wa kanenari). We should think about the value of time and spending time is investment anytime.

orz?

orz or _| ̄|○ is used for expression of disappointment, despair, regret because both letters seem the person who apologizes, throws oneself on the ground. But most case is it used as self-deprecation. I have never seen both capital letter and small letter expression in English chatting, mail so that it might be seen only in Japanese expression.

For example to self-deprecation, "Ha? Who's fault to write this bug? I was looking for past two hours and finally found the signature! It said ... "by Jim" .. it was me, orz

Meditation is

"Meditation" is "瞑想" in Japanese Kanji. First character "瞑" is meaning of close eyes, second one "想" is deep thinking.

Happy New Year

"Happy New Year" is "謹賀新年" in all Kanji in Japanese. It's a typical, formal saying in a new year's card.

LOL

In case of chatting, (笑) is very often used as lol in English. It's used of course in chat and more in email, blog, which is easy to be used in Japanese.

Love

"Love" is "愛"(ai) in Japanese. If the people say "I love you", it's said in Japanese "愛している"(ai-shite-iru). Do not say "I shit you", this is a famous gag in Japan.
